My name is Ola and ever since I could remember, the written word has always been a special way for me to truly express myself.
I created Softly Spoken with a long-cherished dream of my calligraphy touching people&#8217;s lives, accompanying them during their love stories and moments that take our breath away.
All my life I have grown with love for graphic design and art, but only turning words that I was finding myself within, into various shapes and letters, made me feel genuine freedom of letting myself be seen by others. Robert Bringhurst once wrote: “Letterforms have tone, timbre, character, just as words and sentences do”. Not only have these words accompanied me through my calligraphy journey, but they are also the reason why I fell in love with typography in the first place. &#8220;Well-chosen words deserve well-chosen letters&#8221;, and I believe they remain a timeless medium of visual language that carry different tone and emotions alongside the things we want to say, a voice that helps to bring out your most beautiful feelings to the world. Words and letters can be a truly perfect match, that lends grace and courtesy to your story, which is exactly the reason why it&#8217;s so important you give them your love and attention.
